In 2010 FIMBank also sponsored a conservation initiative which had the aim of preserving a major Valletta landmark for future generations, Antonio Sciortino's Great Siege Monument. This well-known sculpture, which is located opposite the Law Courts in Republic Street, Valletta, was installed in 1927 and consists of a granite base supporting three bronze figures. Antonio Sciortino is one of Malta's most accomplished artists, and enjoys international recognition and acclaim for his works which are found in Malta, London, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Paris and Rome, amongst others.

The project was coordinated by heritage NGO Din l-Art Helwa while the Heritage ResCo conservation team were entrusted with the cleaning and preventive maintenance of the monument. Works were coordinated with the Restoration Project Office (Valletta Mdina Kottonera Rehabilitation Project), which falls under the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs. The project was implemented during the month of August 2010 and works primarily addressed the effects of unfavourable atmospheric conditions, in particular the natural weathering process caused mainly by salt deposition, acidic bird droppings, as well as past interventions. Upon completion, the project was inaugurated by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Tonio Borg on the 6th September, in time for the national Victory Day celebrations.
