1. Describe your management style in 10 words or less …
A management style that combines respectful collaboration with disciplined productivity.
2. How long have you been in Malta?
I have been living in Malta for over eight years now
3. What do you like most about living here?
I love the people, the island and the nice weather. The country is safe and offers a good range of lifestyle options.
4. What infuriates you about living in Malta…driving aside…
The state of most roads.
5. Which historical character do you most identify with?
It would have to be Catherine the Great. Her rule was characterised by reforms and modernisation, but also by her bright personality and strong sense of determination.
6. MBA or real life experience?
Every single day is a learning opportunity so real life experience followed by an MBA, if possible.
7. Should CEO’s have blogs, twitter accounts?
CEOs should definitely investigate the use of these tools. They have brought about profound transformations and encouraged more openness and transparency.
8. Can banking be ‘fun’?
Definitely. It is our Group’s philosophy – Never to forget to have fun!
9. What is your biggest weakness?
I may at times expect too much of others.
10. …and your best strength?
Self-discipline coupled with determination and loving my job.
11. What one thing would improve your life?
More hours in the day! I believe in making the most of each day. My philosophy is to make sure the people you care about actually know it, don't worry about little matters and make sure you spend time doing the things you love.
12. Which gadget could you not live without?
My Blackberry.
13. What is the best part of your job?
Meeting people, building relationships, concluding deals and seeing my team at work. Those are the most refreshing part of the job.
14. What is the worst part?
The paperwork and politics that come along with this job.
15. What plans do FIMBank have for the domicile in the next 5 years?
We will continue to build the FIMBank niche market brand name and benefit from the momentum acquired through our growing international presence. Malta will remain vital and central to the Group’s continued business mode and its success and this will also be reflected during the inauguration of our new head office in St. Julian’s in the summer of 2012.
