New President of ISACA Malta Chapter appointed

Gian Carlo Millo has been recently elected President of the Malta Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). ISACA is an independent and non-profit global association, which is a leading provider of knowledge, certifications, community, advocacy and education on information technology (IT) assurance and security, enterprise governance and management of IT, and IT-related risk and compliance. ISACA also develops globally accepted IT auditing and control standards which help its constituents ensure trust in, and value from, information systems.

Mr Millo is Vice President – Internal Audit at FIMBank plc, specialising in risk-based IT audits and IT advisory. Prior to joining the Internal Audit Department of FIMBank plc in 2007, Gian Carlo has held various accounting and auditing positions with KPMG and Portman International, for a total of twenty years’ experience in the financial services industry.

Mr Millo is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC). He also holds an MBA (Finance) from the University of Leicester.

Gian Carlo became a Board Member of the ISACA Malta Chapter in 2010 and has served in the posts of Secretary and Vice President, before being appointed as President during this year’s Annual General Meeting. Mr Millo will be supported in his new role by the Chapter’s newly-elected Board of Directors: Mr Robert Farrugia (Vice President), Mr Karl Brincat Peplow (Secretary), Mr Bernard Farrugia (Treasurer), Mr Vladimiro Comodini, Ms Rebekah Duca, Mr Kirk Pace Bonici Mompalao and Mr Andrew Schembri (Directors).
