FIMBank's female team wins KPMG Banca Cup football tournament

The FIMBank team for the Banca Cup 2006

FIMBank plc won the KPMG Banca Cup football tournament which was held on the 4th November at St. Martin's College in Swatar, competing against teams from other local financial institutions.

Following last year’s request by female football enthusiasts to have their own teams participate in KPMG’s fully sponsored football tournament, four female teams eagerly joined and fiercely competed in the championship! FIMBank proudly reports that its own female team won the very sought after cup by showing off their skills and sportsmanship, whilst FIMBank’s men’s team reached the finals as runners up.

FIMBank’s female “dream-team”, was proudly coached by Joe Rodgers, and comprised of Jasmine Zammit Stafrace, Fallon Sammut, Manuela Pulis, Sanella Attard, Christine Saliba, Maria Said, Nadia Cassar, Jennifer Aquilina, Ashley Ciantar, and Janet Cuschieri.

The female team competed against KPMG, HSBC and APS’s female teams, and scored respectively 2-0, 1-0, and 4-1, thus earning maximum points from the three matches and ultimately claiming the trophy.
