FIMBank plc receives an award of Excellence

FIMBank plc, the Maltese based international trade finance specialised bank, receives the 2006 Euro STP Excellence Award from Deutsche Bank. This award is granted to the banks that succeed in processing straight through payments (STP) whilst maintaining a very low level of corrections. Payments are processed by SWIFT and require precision in inputting the details in an approved format. Deviations from the format would cause delays and additional costs. FIMBank’s Payment Services unit responsible for clearing the bank’s payments as well as those of its correspondents is headed by Mr. Roderick Azzopardi and forms part of the bank’s operation department.

Charles Wallbank, Senior Vice President and Head operations commended the team for their diligence stating that the Award is a sign of recognition for the excellent work provided by each member of the team.

Margrith Lütschg-Emmenegger, President of FIMBank was pleased to receive the Award and congratulated the payment division of the bank for their work. She stated that this award similar to the other awards received by FIMBank Group is a sign of the professionalism and dedication of management and staff alike to the enhancement of the bank’s services and reputation.
